My Ultimate Valentine’s Day Gift Guide

It’s the Month of Love.

It’s that time of year again & it may feel like Christmas was only seconds ago, but February 14th is fast approaching & it’s pretty hard to miss the fact that Valentine’s is just around the corner. 6 days away now peeps!

Whether you like to splash out on heaps of presents & a fancy meal or have a more low-key celebration like cooking a romantic dinner at home, Valentine’s Day is a time for showing your favourite person how much you love & appreciate them.

Although, you should be doing that anyway, right?! In any case it’s still a day where it’s the perfect excuse to spoil that special someone.

I have to admit something, even though I’ve put together this little gift guide for Valentine’s Day, as MR.B & I have gotten older we don’t tend to give into the hype of this overly commercialised day anymore. For instance this year we are putting the money towards something abit more practical, we are currently in the midst of redecorating all of the bedrooms, so the money is going towards that. Super Romantic, I know. But we need new furniture & paints etc (which doesn’t come cheap!!) but we don’t need gifts, so it works for us. I’m sure we will just order in a takeaway, drink wine & watch a film. We know how to keep the romance alive- haha!

That being said, I’ve put together a list of gifts for those who are struggling to think of what to get their other half.

For The Romantic

Flowers are one of the main gifts received on Valentines Day. This is of no surprise, after all most women love flowers. I know I do. Nothing beats flowers being delivered to your door to make you feel special. Prestige Flowers have a gorgeous range of bouquet flowers like the one I was kindly gifted above, & if you were to order by 9pm they will be delivered to you the very next day. This is great, if you are a last minute gift buyer. The bouquet that I was sent was the Valentine’s 12 Luxury for £34.99. For £5 extra you could get a box of chocolates, or if you really want to push the boat out, you could spend an extra £10 & get chocolates & a cute cuddly bear.

Another most brought gift for Valentine’s Day is wine, oh glorious wine. And well, why bloody not. Give me wine & I’ll pretty much love you forever- Haha! Even though it may not be the most thoughtful of gifts, I’m pretty certain most women will love a bottle of wine to enjoy of that evening.

Chocolate- It’s a Valentine’s Day classic for a reason! Again give me chocolate & I will love you forever!

This Large Valentine’s Chocolate Heart from The Gourmet Chocolate Pizza Company would be perfect for your crazed chocolate lover. I mean come on, look how cute it is!! Would match perfectly with that bottle of wine & flowers now, wouldn’t it?!

Some women may well be on a New Years Resoultional Health Kick, so you will think chocolate would not be an ideal gift. You can think again.

These Superfood Chocolates from IQchoc are completely guilt free! IQ Chocolate make super delicious brain healthy chocolate from bean to bar. Their chocolates are- Nut Free, Gluten Free, Wheat Free, Dairy Free, Soya Free, in fact all chocolate is free from all 14 allergens, & it is low on the Glyceamic index. In addition it is: High in fibre, copper, manganese, phosphorus, a source of magnesium & iron.

So go on, get your girl that chocolate she is so desperately craving, she will love you even more for it!

For The Charmer

If your not all for showering your loved one in flowers, chocolates & wine. But still unsure on what to get, than jewellery is definitely a good place to start, you can rarely go wrong with a lovely bit of jewellery. Like this gorgeous Heart & Arrow Bangle from J&S Jewellery. It’s also now in the sale for only £7.20!!

Or how about these stunning Hermatite Metallic Valentine’s Hoops from My Hart BeadingA pretty combination of metallic soft rose pink & hermatite semi-precious stone hoop earrings, handmade in London. They are simply gorgeous, I’ve had so many compliments when I’ve worn mine & they would truely make the perfect gift this Valentine’s, all without breaking the bank as these little beauty’s are only £18!!

For The Practical

If you wanted to buy a gift that wouldn’t be expected by your loved one, than this Simply Hearts Personalised Wooden Tea Light Holder from Make Me Something Special would make the ideal gift. These candle holders are all handmade to order & from scratch out of the highest qualify & locally sourced Prime A Grade English Oak. They are also available in three sizes, the one I was kindly gifted here is the 5 Tealights for £49. You could also make it that extra bit special by having a message engraved onto the back for only an extra £10!

His & Hers (or His & His, Hers & Hers) Coasters Set, would make a lovely gift for Valentine’s. They are not your usual go to gift but your other half will be sure to love it. I love this cute spots & stripes design & will be perfect for the bedside units. These are only £7 for the pair & you can find them from Paper Plane Designs.

Now we’ve got the gifts out of the way, how about cards? There are so many sickly lovey dovey cards stacked up high in all of the supermarkets, so why not try one with abit of comedy? Like this one here...

I don’t know about you, but I’d rather much give MR.B a card that will make him smile & laugh. You can find this hilarious card (which is £4.95) & others from Bubblegum Balloons.

I hope you’ve enjoyed my Valentine’s Day Gift Guide- have a great day, whoever you spend it with!
