An Open Letter Of Appreciation To MR.B

I am admittedly VERY lucky to have such a wonderful man that I can share my life with. Sometimes I go way too long without letting him know how much I appreciate him.

At this stage in our relationship, i.e- 10 years & 3 children later. There are typically not grand romantic gestures, fancy nights out at restaurants or spontaneous expensive gifts. (Although a nice bouquet of flowers would be most welcome- hint, hint!)

We have more of a practical, down to earth type relationship- & I love it! The small things that MR.B does on a daily basis to keep our relationship & our family life run as smoothly as possible, means soo much more to me than a fancy bit of jewellery.

So I just want to take the time to say thankyou...

Thankyou for choosing me.

Thankyou for putting up with me, I know I’m far from perfect, but you love the imperfectly perfect me. And I love you for that.

Thankyou for being the best dad you can be. The children completely idolise you- & you them, my heart feels full watching you all together.

Thankyou for working so hard for us, you constantly bend over backwards so we can have the nicer things in life. And although they may be trivial in hindsight, I really really appreciate that; beyond any words I can express.

Thankyou for your constant encouragement & belief in me. You’ve always been my biggest supporter.

Thankyou for keeping your cool when I lose mine. I really don’t know how I would cope some days.

Thankyou for being such a fantastic partner in so many ways (I won’t mention them all here!)

I really could go on & on. So thankyou m’love.

(But seriously though, about those flowers, I’m still waiting! Haha!)

Spread Some Festive Cheer With Prestige Flowers

How you guys getting on with your Christmas shopping? I’ve very nearly finished mine, thankfully! No mad rush purchasing on Christmas Eve for me, unlike most years, haha!

If you still have Christmas shopping to finish but are stuck for ideas on what to get a loved one, a friend, co-worker or grandparent that has helped you out looking after the little ones all year, why not order a special festive bouquet from Prestige Flowers?

Prestige Flowers have a gorgeous range of Christmas blooms to suit any taste, they have taken great care to put together bouquets that are seasonal & festive with a touch of class.

If you know me you’ll know that I love flowers despite not getting them very often (Yes MR.B I’m looking at you!) but I was extremely lucky to be sent a gorgeous Noel Bouquet.

This particular bouquet arrived on a day where I was feeling a little under the weather so it was the perfect pick me up if I’m honest. They came in a pretty patterned box & I was so excited to open them, we opened the box & all I could see was this beautiful bouquet of christmas flowers staring back at me, they were perfectly arranged & I was so so excited to get them out of the box.

On digging through the box a bit deeper, I was delighted to see two little surprises in there too. A box of chocolates & a quaint vase to house my flowers in. It made such a lovely touch.

I think these flowers or any other bouquet from the Christmas range would make a fantastic gift for someone, it is thoughtful & who doesn’t love receiving flowers?

I was so impressed with the quality & the service I have received both times from Prestige Flowers that I have been looking at ordering some for upcoming events, I noticed that you can even choose your delivery date so if you have a birthday coming up & its not until say next month, you can order them for that day which I thought was so good. It means you can be extra organised & not stress about having to buy a last minute present. Also if you order by 9pm you are able to get next day delivery, how good is that?!

Thankyou very much Prestige Flowers!

*Disclamier- I was kindly gifted this bouquet from prestige flowers in exchange for review, however all thoughts & opinions are that of my own & always 100% honest.

Finding The Perfect Christmas Gift With Jord

Wow, I can not believe how fast December is going by already. Christmas is just around the corner, 20 sleeps to be exact...eeekk!

Have you started on your holiday shopping yet?  For the past couple of months, I have been buying presents here & there, checking names off my gift list, & I have even finished the majority of the present wrapping! I know right? check me out, super Miss Organised over here!

But if you haven’t yet started your shopping, or still have a few more gifts to check off that list & your still uncertain on what to buy. Then you must check out Jord Watches, you will not be disappointed I assure you!

Let me tell you a little bit about Jord...

Jord watches are one-of-a-kind, made from all-natural wood & materials that have been ethically-sourced from around the world, including acacia, bamboo, ebony, maple, rosewood, walnut, & more. There are a number of Jord watches available for both Men & Women, with several styles/series featuring different types of watch faces & complementary woods. With so many choices, there is certainly a watch to fit anyone’s taste!

The company was so kind, & they let me pick out a watch from their collection. This was a tough job to do, because they have so many gorgeous watches to choose from. After looking at & deliberating between all of the many available styles, I chose the Frankie 35 Series in Zebrawood & Champagne.

I picked this beauty because of its natural look & versatility in matching with all types of colours & textures. My first impression was, wow! The wood watch comes in a beautiful wooden box, accompanied by a cleaning cloth, extra links for sizing, a pen for preserving the wood, & a little pillow. I am always a sucker for packaging so this definitely was a plus!

I picked up the watch & I couldn’t believe how lightweight it was. It’s fitted with a stainless steel clasp with buttons on each side. It easily clasped on my wrist & it felt very secure. I can actually put this on myself with one hand! I was completely impressed with the details of everything.

I really love my Jord watch & would highly recommend them to anyone. The watches are also able to be engraved on the back for that extra special touch, making it the perfect unique & thoughtful gift this Christmas.

NOW for the exciting part! JORD Wood Watches also gave me a gift to give to you! Follow my link here for a 25% off gift code, valid until December 15, 2017.

Happy shopping guys!

Relax This Christmas With The Perfect Christmas Eve Pamper Night

I’m honestly like an excitable child the night before Christmas. I can’t sleep, I’m dying to get into the presents & desperate to see the smile on MR.B & the children’s faces when they open their eyes.

No matter how much we want to believe otherwise, Christmas is stressful. From endless trips to packed shopping centres to never ending social events with people that you haven’t seen for years, we’re under pressure to be here, there & everywhere!

So I can’t think of anything better to do on Christmas Eve than pamper myself & get myself ready for the busy day(s)ahead. Plus it’s always nice to give yourself a nice, relaxing evening, & have some much needed TLC, isn’t it?!

It may be the season of giving, but that doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t treat yourself!

Get all the candles, the more the merrier! Put some in the bathroom, one next to your bed, one on your dressing table & get those bad boys lit. Candles are important, so important & really set the chill mood! This Winter Glow by Yankee Candle, smells absolutely amazing!

Remove Make-Up & Face Mask

I feel so much lighter after a freshly washed makeup, grease free face. Next give your skin the time of it’s life & treat it to your favourite face mask! Mine is this Tea Tree Skin Clearing Clay MaskApplying a facemask also gives you the perfect opportunity to relax with a good book or your favourite magazine.

Bath Bombs

What kind of pamper evening doesn’t involve a bath?! Get all the bubbles you can imagine in this bath, that’s important bubbles are so relaxing! Pop in a Lush bath bomb, add a candle to the side of the bath, dim the lights put on a playlist, lay back & relax!

Wash Your Hair & Apply A Hair Mask

You’ve treated your face, so why not your hair?
Treat your hair to a hair mask during your pamper night & add back some of the vital nutrients & moisture that it’s been lacking. I LOVE using this Moroccanoil Intense Hydrating Mask. It works absolute wonders on my dry, frizzy hair!

Exfoliate & Shave

Your pamper night is the perfect time to show your skin some extra love, it’s a rare opportunity to spend a bit more time & effort on it than you normally would. I always go for Soap & Glory Flake Away Body Polish, it smells so good & it really gets rid of any dry skin you might have going on!

Moisturise, Moisturise, Moisturise!

After your soak, cover yourself in your favourite luxuriously thick moisturiser to rehydrate. This  Soap & Glory Smoothie Star Body Buttercream is my absolute favourite moisturiser! It is light on your skin & smells like a dream

Post Pampering Treats

The pampering doesn’t have to stop right there! Once I’m all ready & in some fresh pyjamas. I’ll stick on Netflix, I’ll whip out my glitzy sparkly red nail polish, what a better time to wear a striking red than over Christmas, am I right?! & indulge in some some naughty pre- Christmas chocolate & wine. This Spoil Yourself Rotten hamper is perfect for doing just that! This taste box is designed to make stress evaporate with mini bottles of prosecco, an indulgent bar of handmade luxury chocolate & a beautiful cashmere & silk candle.

Do you give yourself a Christmas Eve Pamper? If not, how do you spend you Christmas Eve?

*Disclaimer- I was very kindly gifted the Spoil Yourself Rotten Hamper in exchange for a feature in this post. However all thoughts & opinions are that of my own.

Cook Up A Festive Kitchen

Home is where the heart is, & the heart of the home is in the kitchen. Well, it is in our house anyway.

I know it’s still only November, but I’m already thinking about different ways to decorate my home, including my kitchen.

It’s lovely to wake up on Christmas morning & have the family gather in the kitchen.  It’s the ideal place for a meal, cup of coffee with Christmas treats, & the place where we tend to spend a considerable amount of time during the festive period – so it makes sense to bring some Christmas joy to the kitchen, right?

So I’ve come up with a few simple suggestions, to help you decorate your kitchen all ready for the big day. So its time for you to dig out the Christmas decorations & create a kitchen winter wonderland for you & your family!

A Christmas Wreath

Bring your wreath inside – wreaths look great on front doors, but bring them inside & they can add a festive glamour to your kitchen door or window. This will add instant Christmas cheer to the otherwise undecorated room & won’t take up space. I love the traditional Christmassy colours in this Wintery Pine Pre-Lit Wreath

Accessorise with Red

If you don’t want to clutter your kitchen with decorations, opt for a few simple accessories. Like these Tea Towels, Oven Mitts & Cake Tin. Why don’t you try decorating your space by hanging twinkly lights & cards beneath surfaces & above cupboards. Twinkly lights are an instant Christmas pick me up & look great in the kitchen. Hung up high, they are out of the way & a simple decoration, but have a huge impact.

Festive Tablewear

Lay out your table with festive items, you don’t need much to make your table look Christmas Ready. You can grab some ideas from one of my previous posts here.

Smell like Christmas

The kitchen always smells amazing throughout the festive period, with copious amounts of cooking & baking which is inevitable! But there is nothing wrong with wanting to add an extra Christmas whiff. This Christmas Memories Candle Gift Set would be perfect. Not only do they smell gorgeous, but they look good too!

If your kitchen is looking festive ready, why not look the part yourself when your preparing all those yummy Christmas goodies, or even preparing your Christmas Dinner? By wearing this Personalised Christmas Dinner Apron. They look fantastic! MR.B has the honours preparing & cooking Christmas Dinner this year, Mama gets a day off, Yay!

Do you like to dress up your kitchen ready for the festive season? Mr.B & I have already started on our present wrapping & watching Christmas Movies with the children... eeekk! I can’t wait!

*Disclaimer- I was very kindly gifted the Christmas Memories Candle Gift Set & Personalised Christmas Dinner Apron in exchange for a feature in this post. However all thoughts & opinions are that of my own.

Simple Christmas Mantle Decor Ideas

“The stockings were hung by the chimney with care, in hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there…” ~ Clement Clarke Moore.

Christmas is a magical time of year, isn’t it? It happens to be (as you have surely guessed by now!) my most favourite time of the year & a time when I absolutely love to decorate my house.

There seem to be two key areas where my love for festive decor shines the brightest–the Christmas tree (of course) & the fireplace mantel. I’m a really big fan of a traditional Christmas Mantel, with lots of layers of full greenery, & pops of saturated colour.

I haven’t started to decorate properly...yet! But I have put a few bits & pieces out already, as I really cannot help myself! I’ve put together my own little checklist as it were, of what items I’m going to use to decorate my Mantel, maybe you’ll be able to get some inspo.

First up is the Garland

Let’s face it, for most of us, decorating an entire mantel with real greenery is not affordable or feasible. As much as I drool over those staged magazine shots of the quintessential Christmas mantel draped with fresh cedar garland, I know it’s not gonna happen in my house – & maybe not yours? (If yes, then I am soooo envious!)

So I’ve opted for this Traditional Christmas Garland with Pinecones & Berries from Tesco Direct, & it’s a bargain for only £10.00!! I’m going to use this as my foundation, weave some pretty, twinkling lights through, then bulk out with some festive accessories.

Next up is Bunting-

There is something about plaid & burlap that makes me think of ‘Simple, Country.’ I just love the natural touches & look. This Merry Christmas Bunting ticks all those boxes. It’s been really well made & very sturdy, so I can tell this is going to last for years!

Then we have Accessories

Talking about loving the natural look, I’m absolutely in love with this beautiful Christmas Log Couple Artwork. Stunning, isn’t it?! It’s made up from solid oak & delicately cut into a very cute love heart & arrow shape, engraved with your initials, just like the ones you would draw in your school books, back in the day. I can’t wait for it to be delivered, it’s going to look fab at the foot of my fireplace. This would also make a brilliant Christmas gift, say for a couple on their first Christmas together.

Can you get any more traditional, using this Large Christmas Nutcracker? I haven’t purchased any as of yet, but I think this one has my heart. May have to buy 2, just so I can make it symmetrical, haha!

One for the ‘Home Alone’ fans out there. This brilliant Merry Christmas Ya Filthy Animal Print, looks absolutely fab on top of the Mantel, but if you haven’t got a Mantel, not to worry! It would make the perfect finishing touch anywhere in your living room.

This is one for the children. My 2 eldest children always insist in ‘helping me’ with the Christmas Decor, instead of fighting it, (you learn to pick your battles when it comes to kids!) I just tend to let them carry on, & 9/10 they’ve done a fab job! When they learnt that this Personalised Christmas Countdown Stag Head was on it’s way to them in the post, they’ve insisted it has to be hung somewhere around the fireplace. So that is where it shall be hung. Kids!

Last but not least Candles-

I plan to buy a couple of candle stick holders like this one here, to place on top of my Mantel & use traditional Christmas red candles. I think the copper finish would match well, & they are only £5.00!

Seriously want to pull all my decorations down from my loft now & get decorating!! Although Mr.B loves Christmas just as much as I do, I don’t think he would go for it... not just yet anyway! Do you get excited about getting your home all festive ready? Or are you dreading the very thought of it?

*Disclaimer- I was very kindly gifted the Christmas Bunting/ Christmas Log Couple Artwork/ Merry Christmas Ya Filthy Animal Print & Personalised Christmas Countdown Stag Head, for the purpose of this post. However all thoughts & opinions are that of my own.

Does anyone else find coming up with great stocking filler ideas hard? Not knowing what to buy, then end up filling them with just tat, that will most likely end up in the back of the wardrobe somewhere?

Well, that’s the end of my 12 Days of Christmas. I really hope you guys enjoyed it, & managed to get some sort of inspiration from my posts. I will have some more Christmassy themed posts coming up very, very soon. Keep your eyes peeled my lovelies.
