12 Days Of Christmas Series: Day 3- Festive Tableware

Christmas can be an overwhelming & expensive time of year. There are gifts to buy, presents to wrap, meals to plan, halls to deck & Family to visit. It can be a whirlwind of activity!

With all the craziness of the festive period, I tend to forget to dress up our dining area for Christmas, I normally just put a couple of candles out & some nice plates & glasses. This year is going to be different. I’m going to go all out with tableware & decs.

A couple of days after Christmas, MR.B’s Family will travel over to ours, (they live about 3hrs drive away from us) & we host a ‘2nd Christmas Day’ it’s always brilliant fun & such a great way to spread the festivities out longer, the children love it (so do I!) so I want to make some special touches to make the day that extra bit special for everyone.

If you missed day 1&2 of my 12 Days of Christmas Series, you can catchup here & here.

We have a gorgeous rustic farm house dining table in a dark oak colour, so I didn’t really want to cover it up with a tablecloth, so when I came across this beautiful Red Reindeer Table Runner from Ella James on NOTHS, i just knew it would match the table brilliantly. It’s really going to give my dining room that festive touch that it needs, you could also use this runner to dress up a sideboard or hall table.

I want to get some Christmassy Placemats this year & I think these “We Love Christmas” Placemats from Silver Mushroom Quality Kitchenware, would be perfect. And you can’t go wrong for £29.99 for a pack of 4, bargain! & they are just so pretty.

I would get matching coasters to go with the placemats but I saw these Merry Xmas Slate Coasters from Grasi that I just couldn’t resist getting them. The coasters come as a set of 4 for £24.50 wrapped with red gingham ribbon & in a box, you can also buy these coasters as a single, which would make a great Christmas gift for only £10 & this will come delivered in a kraft sleeve. These slates are handcrafted from natural welsh slate sourced from a quarry in the heart of Snowdonia National Park, & can come engraved with a seasonal message of ‘Merry Xmas’ or in Welsh ‘Nadolig Llawen’. You can shop more of Grasi’s fabulous products here.

What’s Christmas without a great selection of cheese’s & red wine? It just isn’t. Crackers, chutney, pickle, bread, Mmmm my mouth is just drooling at the very thought of it! Well what better way to display your tasty cheese spread than on this Personalised Christmas Slate Cheese Board from Stokesandrose on Etsy. You can have it personalised with your Family Name or any lettering that you would like, & has been tastefully decorated with a row of beautiful Christmas Holly at the bottom. Can you tell that I’m totally into the rustic slate look at the moment? Haha!

I tend to do a lot of baking around the festive time, Cakes, Mince Pies, Nutella Christmas Tree Mmmm. I can’t wait! & this Baked With Love Christmas Slate Heart Serving Plate from Shindiggwould be a beautiful way to display your pastry goodies.

I’ve recently just ordered this simple but gorgeous 3 Candled Christmas Centrepiece from Ebay, with the price being just £18.99 I snapped it right up, I didn’t want anything too extravagant, so this is just perfect! I can’t wait for it to arrive so I can see it in person.

How cute is this Merry Christmas Cake Topper from Fira Studio?! We don’t tend to buy a traditional Christmas Cake as MR.B & the children don’t really like them, but we do buy some form of Christmas dessert, whether that be a gateau of some kind or a cheesecake. This Topper, on the dessert, on the table is going to look the perfect part!

Do you dress up your dining table for Christmas? I’m still looking for a few more bits so if you’ve brought/seen anything that will make a dining room look extra festive, then please let me know!

*Disclaimer- I was gifted products from Ella James/Grasi/Stokesandrose/Shindigg & Fira Studio in exchange for an honest review, however all thoughts & opinions are that of my own.
